Olufunke Ayotunde Akindele, popularly known as Funke Akindele, is a woman of many hats. She is a prominent Nigerian director, actress, producer, and politician. The actress was born on August 24, 1977, in Ikorudu, Lagos state, Nigeria, the second child of three children of her parents.
She has released several movies, including A Tribe Called Judah, Battle on Buka Street, Jenifa’s Diary, and many more. During her career, she has also won several awards. In 2022, Funke Akindele became the deputy governorship candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Lagos state.
After previously being married in 2012, the actress got divorced in 2013. She married again in May 2016 to Nigerian rapper JJC Skillz and they share twin children. However, the marriage ended in June 2022 as announced on Instagram by her ex-husband JJC Skillz.
Fun fact: Nigerian filmmaker, Funke Akindele is the first director whose film grossed over a billion naira at the Nigeria box office.
