Popular Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele, has publicly accused her estranged husband, Abdulrasheed Bello, known as JJC Skillz, of neglecting his responsibilities toward their children.
In an emotional interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Akindele disclosed that she has been solely responsible for raising their twin boys following the breakdown of their marriage in 2022.
Akindele and JJC Skillz got married in 2016 and welcomed their twins in 2018. However, in June 2022, JJC announced their separation via Instagram, stating that unresolved issues regarding child custody and business interests remained.
In her recent interview, Akindele opened up about the emotional toll of multiple setbacks in her life, including her mother’s death, a failed political campaign, and the collapse of her marriage.
“I lost my mum, my marriage fell apart, I lost in politics, I have to get back to work, I have to earn a living. I have children I’m raising alone and you are stressing me,” she said, revealing how online harassment and personal struggles pushed her into depression.
She also recalled a rare moment when she broke down publicly in frustration, overwhelmed by accusations and expectations.
Despite the turmoil, Akindele emphasized her resilience and determination to move forward. “I do not allow myself to break down, and it affected me… I almost died,” she said.
