Early Life

Ali Mohammed Nuhu was born on March 15, 1974, in Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria. His father’s name was Poloma Nuhu and he was from Balanga Local Government Area of Gombe State while his mother, Fatima Karderam Digema was from Bama Local Government Area of Borno State. Ali Nuhu was raised in Kano state.
His father Poloma Nuhu was a businessman and politician. He was once the chairman of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Gombe state which is his state of origin. However, as a businessman, Poloma moved around pretty much due to the nature of his work. Poloma Nuhu sadly passed away in June 2020 due to an undisclosed illness at the University Teaching Hospital in Gombe. He was 79 years old at the time of his death.
His mother, Fatima Karderam Digema was a successful school teacher who rose through the ranks to become a headmistress. She was among the few children whom missionaries took to school while growing up. She was a supportive and peaceful woman who taught her children to do their best in their work.
