Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo is no stranger to making headlines, but this time, it’s her love life that’s getting people talking.
In a candid interview on TVC’s Your View, the outspoken mother of two opened up about her unconventional but deeply satisfying relationship with music executive Paul Okoye, popularly known as Paulo.
While many celebrity relationships are centered around fairytale weddings and public displays of affection, Iyabo is charting a different course, one that prioritizes freedom, privacy, and mutual understanding.
In her words…
“Because of the way I work, I am such a workaholic, and he is also a workaholic. That Igbo man likes to work. For me, there are times when I want to be alone, and I just pack my bags and return to my house. We never fight over that because he understands,” she revealed.
Iyabo made it clear that marriage is not in the picture for them, and that’s exactly how they like it.
“We don’t want marriage,” she stated firmly.

Their relationship first became public on December 21, 2022, her 45th birthday, when she posted a sweet video collage on Instagram, confirming months of speculation and revealing her man to the world. Fans were thrilled to finally meet the person who had stolen the heart of the vibrant actress.
In a past interview, Paulo playfully accused Iyabo of “snatching him” from his numerous side chics, a claim she acknowledged with laughter. The couple shares a humorous, easygoing chemistry, and both have expressed that their relationship is not about starting a new family—they already have two children each from previous relationships.
Iyabo’s openness and affection for Paulo haven’t gone unnoticed, especially on social media, where she often shares love notes and appreciation posts for him. While some fans cheer her on, others have trolled her for being too vocal about a relationship where, according to them, Paulo isn’t showing the same level of affection publicly.
In response to critics, she once again declared her love for Paulo, reminding them that their relationship is not up for public approval.
