An Ikeja High Court has adjourned the defamation case against Instagram celebrity and activist Martins Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman (VDM), to April 15, 2024.
The lawsuit was filed by renowned human rights lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN), and his son, rapper Folarin ‘Falz’ Falana, following an audio recording made by cross-dresser Bobrisky, in which he accused the Falanas of perverting justice.
The adjournment was due to the absence of VDM and his legal team. His lead counsel, Marvin Omorogbe, requested the court to reschedule the case due to a domestic emergency. However, the Falanas’ lawyer, Omotayo Olatunbosun, dismissed the request as a deliberate delay tactic.
At the court’s urging, Olatunbosun proceeded with his counter-affidavit, opposing the preliminary objection filed by VDM.
Justice Matthias Dawodu subsequently adjourned the case until April 15 for a hearing on the objection, prolonging the highly publicized legal battle.
