Sen. Ned Nwoko (APC-Delta) did not accuse All Progressives Congress, APC of betrayal over his loss of the Senatorial District ticket for the 2027 election.

The Ned Nwoko Media Team said this in a statement on Tuesday while dismissing a press statement purported to have been issued by Nwoko.

The media team described the reports as false and misleading while insisting that Nwoko had not granted any interview, issued any statement or authorised any release making such claims.

The media team attributed the statement to the team of Ifeanyi Okowa, the former governor of Delta State who defeated Nwoko in the battle for the senatorial ticket.

“Our attention has been drawn to a false, misleading and malicious article attributed to the Okowa media team, claiming that Sen. Prince Ned Nwoko “cried out” over an alleged betrayal by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the loss of the Delta North senatorial ticket.

“We state categorically that this statement and press release did not emanate from Sen. Ned Nwoko or his media team, and that the senator has not granted any interview, issued any statement or authorised any release making such claims.

“The publication is fabricated to mislead the public and create unnecessary tension within the APC in Delta.

“Sen. Ned Nwoko remains a committed and loyal member of APC. Since joining the party, he has worked with the leadership at state and national levels to strengthen the party in Delta North and across the state.

“He continues to support the party’s processes and structures. The narrative of “betrayal” and “power-sharing agreements” is false and designed to incite division.

“Sen. Nwoko believes in due process, party supremacy and internal democracy. He does not engage in blackmail or public outbursts to address party matters. Any grievance, where it exists, is handled through the appropriate party channels,” the media team said.

It advised the public to disregard the article in its entirety, as it was a product of political mischief by the Okowa media team aimed at sowing discord ahead of the 2027 elections.

“Sen. Nwoko will not be distracted by propaganda. He is focused on delivering results for the people of Delta North and supporting President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda at the national level.

“He remains open to working with all party members, old and new, to build a stronger APC in Delta.

“We urge media outlets and the public to verify information with the official channels of Sen. Ned Nwoko before publication.

“Legal action is being considered against those responsible for this defamatory publication,” the team added.
