Holla, this seems to be an interesting topic to talk about mostly because it has to do with dressing right, oh well, let’s dive in. Let’s begin with the line: “You’re addressed the way you’re dressed”. Most people pay little or no attention to their mode and style of dressing and this has a lot of effects on them, with the way the world sees them and the way they present themselves to the world.
In all you do, ensure you look good and smart, not in a snobbish way, mode, or style, in that way you’ll earn respect, and recognition wherever you find yourself. People respect you more and it brings favors to you as researched by Naijassador.
Do you know that the mouth is not the only medium that speaks?
Your character speaks
Your lifestyle speaks
Your facial expression speaks
Your body movement speaks
Even your silence speaks!
But let me bring to your notice that your dress also speaks it speaks before the mouth here in the sense that people just literally tell the kind of person you are merely looking at you and the way you appear, they can they from afar off from your regalia who is coming, when even if it isn’t always true, but base on your outfit, they are right.
I remember last year, I was wearing a polo printed with the Union Bank logo, colors, and adverts. It was strictly made for Union Bank workers, but I happened to wear it that day (even though I’ve never been an employee of a Union Bank before).
Moving confidently and focused as I always do, I was stopped by a Union Bank customer. Boom! He started telling me about his bank issues, asking if I could rectify them or better still report to the bank management. I quickly obstructed him saying ” I’m not a Union Bank staff o, this polo was given to me by someone I know…”
He kept a long face and left saying he thought I was a union bank staff. At that moment, so many thoughts crawled into my cerebrum, but I didn’t allow them to bother me…
Now back to our discussion,
That customer addressed me the way I dressed, even though I wasn’t a Union Bank staff, my dress defined me as one and attracted me to him.

It attracts different kinds of people to you depending on the way you dress.
Oh, there is so much power in dressing fine! But here’s some advice though, don’t overdo it!!! Just be modest and clean, then you’re good to go.
Someone will say “The outward appearance does not matter but the state of the heart”, but let me shock you: every visible thing or action you take is a concept from the heart, the mind, it comes from within! So, let’s keep the within out of this. Whatever is a visual display, was first thought of in the imagination realm before finding it expression physically, it is always inside first.
Your dress speaks a lot about you, it introduces you before you utter a word.
It gives the first impression. Before you say ” I’m Mr. Whatever you are, it has already said who you are already. A banker is known for his /her official dressing style and pattern, a doctor is known when seen with a white overall and a stethoscope, and a lawyer is known when seen with their outfit, the same applies to engineers and other working professionals.
Do you want to be great? Dress like a great person.
Do you want to be respected? Dress respectfully.
If you don’t want to be mistaken for one who is insane, dress responsibly.
