Singer Paul Okoye popularly known as Rudeboy, has slammed the Nigerian Senate over their call for the extension of deadline for swapping the old naira notes in exhange for new naira notes.

The National Assembly recently urged the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), to extend the deadline for swapping of the old naira notes in exchange for the new naira notes to June 2023.

The Senate pushed for this because of the inability of the new naira notes to circulate among Nigerians especially commoners.

In reaction to this, Rudeboy, took to his insta story and accused the Senate chamber of speaking up for the masses because the CBN policy affects them.

The singer used the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown as an example, stating that the senators were silent when people were hungry during the lockdown and hidden palliatives were discovered.

In Paul Okoye’s words,

“During pandemic, people were hungry, where was the senate when the palliative were discovered?
Same government were hiding food for their citizens, they were silent and dumb because it doesn’t affect them.
Now with the CBN naira redesign they became spokemen for the poor 🤮 cos it affects them.
Imagine there was no election…
Aswear they won’t say Pim!!
NIAJA wise up🧠”.
