Politician Barakat Bakare has added to the ongoing political drama in Surulere after revealing that she stepped down for Desmond Elliot during the 2023 elections.
According to her, the sacrifice she made at the time has not been reciprocated in the current political situation.
“I stepped down for Desmond Elliot in 2023, but he hasn’t stepped down for me now,” she stated.
Her comments come amid rising political tension in Surulere, where different camps and supporters have continued to exchange words over party interests and representation.
