What was meant to be a formal commissioning of the Ibadan Central Bus Terminal at Iwo Road quickly turned into a moment of unexpected entertainment when Governor Seyi Makinde and former President Olusegun Obasanjo were spotted dancing and rocking their waists during the ceremony.

The duo’s energetic moves immediately caught the attention of attendees and social media users alike. One Instagram comment read, “Baba himself!! May the good Lord continue to keep you in good health and happiness in Jesus name. AMEN.”

Another quipped humorously,

“Werey la fi wo werey .”

The lively display sparked wide admiration, with citizens describing it as a rare, joyful glimpse of Nigeria’s former and current leaders letting loose.

“That’s a Former and Future President! ,” one user wrote, while another noted, “Old soldier never dies. Baba OBJ always energetic.”

The commissioning ceremony coincided with heavy traffic along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway due to protests over road construction and housing demolitions. Commuters vented frustration online. One wrote, “I have been locked down here, not been able to get into Ibadan since 11am, just 5 minutes to Ibadan old toll gate.”

Despite the traffic chaos, the event showcased a milestone for Ibadan’s transport infrastructure. Governor Makinde hailed the terminal as transformative, promising improved passenger flow and reduced congestion along Iwo Road. Former President Obasanjo also addressed attendees, emphasizing civic responsibility and investment in local development, before breaking into spontaneous dance that had cameras rolling.
