The National Bureau of Investigation in Finland have arrested spokesperson of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Simon Ekpa.
It would be recalled that Simon Ekpa, a local Lahti city councillor representing the National Coalition Party, had called on millions of people to boycott upcoming Nigerian general elections from February 23 to 28, using social media.
Ekpa is the spokesperson of IPOB, a separatist movement agitating for the secession of Biafra in southeastern Nigeria.
Lahti’s Etelä-Suomen Sanomat newspaper reports that Ekpa “doesn’t hide the fact that he is participating in the £limin@tion of government officials.” He even leads the operation and acquires we@pons”.
The FG asked Finland to clamp down on Ekpa’s activities, fearing that they could derail the peaceful conduct of 2023 general elections.
According to HS News, police had stormed Simon’s apartment on Thursday to effect an arrest.
