CLEAN SLATE: Gov. Adeleke sacks Osun workers, dethrones monarchs after inauguration


Barely 24 hours after Gov. Adeleke’s inauguration, the Osun State Governor, reportedly retrenched 12,000 workers & dethroned 3 monarchs.

The Chief press secretary to the Osun State Governor, Olawale Rasheed, in a statement on Nov 28, revealed that he nullified the appointment of 30 Permanent Secretaries and suspended the chairman members of OSIEC.

The Nation Papers reports that the Governor issued 6 executive orders on Monday, including an order freezing all the State Government accounts in all banks & other financial institutions.

The affected monarchs include Akinrun of Ikinrun Oba Yinusa Akadiri; Aree of Ire Oba Ademola Oluponle and Owa of Igbajo, Oba Gboyega Famodun.

The Governor ordered the monarch to vacate the palace asking security operatives to take over.

Rasheed stated that the Osun Governor signed the Executives orders which covered chieftaincy matters, appointments issues, setting up of review panel, staff audit & employment matters.

This seems to be an overhaul of the affairs of the State.
