Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has resisted critics who ridicule his frequent public dancing, stating that personal expression should not overshadow political achievements.

Speaking at a recent public function, Adeleke addressed the backlash he has received for his expressive dance routines, often seen in viral videos online.

He emphasised that dancing is a form of joy and self-expression, not a reflection of his competence as a governor.

“Stop judging me just because I choose to express myself through dancing. It is my joy, my freedom, and an essential part of who I am. If it brings me happiness and harms no one, then there is no reason it should be condemned,” Adeleke said.

Adeleke pointed out that other Nigerian political leaders also dance publicly without facing the same criticism.

“Sanwo-Olu is dancing. Everybody is dancing. Even Baba [President Bola Tinubu] is dancing. So, there is no law that says just because you are a governor, you can’t dance,” he added.

The governor called for an end to what he sees as unfair judgment, urging the public and political commentators to assess him based on his governance, not his personal hobbies.
