Veteran Afrobeats singer Gabriel Oche Amanyi, popularly known as Terry G, has declared that he will never quit music, no matter the criticism.
The 39-year-old, who rose to fame in the 2010s with his unique “Street-hop” sound, made the vow while responding to critics who accused him of chasing clout on social media.
Taking to his X handle, the “Free Madness” crooner wrote:
“I fully embrace being seen as an upcoming artist. You only become a legend when you retire — and I’m never retiring. So if you catch me chasing clout, let me be.”
Terry G, also known as the “Akpako Master,” was a leading voice in ghetto-inspired music with hits such as “Sangalo”, “Run Mad”, and “Free Madness.”
