Social media activist VeryDarkMan has stepped into the ongoing controversy surrounding the divorce of Nigerian music icon 2Baba and his wife, Annie Idibia, issuing a warning to media personality Toke Makinwa.
Toke Makinwa had publicly criticized 2Baba for sharing private marital issues in the public domain, calling his actions insensitive and an example of poor judgment. Her comments, alongside other similar remarks from women online, sparked a strong reaction from VeryDarkMan, who accused Toke and her alleged female alliance of unfairly targeting the artist.
In a video shared online, VeryDarkMan defended 2Baba, claiming the criticism he has faced reflects double standards. He further cautioned Toke Makinwa to refrain from ganging up against the musician.
“Leave 2Face alone. No be by force,” he stated, also implying that Annie ignored red flags in their marriage and that the couple was never a good match.
The heated exchange highlights the complexities of public reactions to celebrity relationships. While Toke Makinwa emphasized the importance of handling private matters discreetly, VeryDarkMan’s defence of 2Baba raises questions about blame and shared responsibility in the breakdown of a marriage, particularly when played out on a public stage.
