Nigerian singer and record label executive, Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, has spoken out following his name being cleared in the investigation into MohBad’s death.

Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) page, the musician expressed his emotions in a lengthy post, revealing the pain and suffering he endured due to the accusations against him.

Naira Marley shared how he never imagined that someone he considered a brother, someone he protected, would pass away with his name attached to the tragedy.

“I never thought silence could be so loud. I never thought someone I called my brother, someone I protected, would leave this world with my name in his shadow,” he wrote. He also mentioned that before MohBad’s passing, they had reconciled and made peace, despite the misunderstandings surrounding their relationship.

The singer lamented that those who were present at MohBad’s death failed to speak up, allowing the world to label him a murderer. “Yet when he took his last breath in you all’s arms, you looked at the world and pointed at me. You let them tear me apart. You let them call me a killer while you sat there, knowing the truth,” he added.

Naira Marley’s case highlights how false accusations and misinformation can damage a person’s self-worth, reputation, and mental well-being. In today’s digital age, where social media spreads information rapidly, individuals can be judged and condemned before any investigation is completed. The psychological toll of such accusations is immense, leading to depression, anxiety, and a loss of self-identity.

When a person is falsely accused, they are forced to bear a burden of shame that is not theirs to carry.
