Nigerian actress Jemima Osunde has shared details of a challenging health journey stemming from a food contamination incident on set three years ago.
In a candid post on her X page, the actress revealed that she contracted Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori), a stomach-infecting bacterium, after consuming contaminated food provided during a film shoot in Ibadan.
The aftermath of this infection has left her battling gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), a chronic condition that affects the digestive system. Osunde described the impact of GERD on her daily life, calling her gastrointestinal tract her “greatest op.”
“I’ve never regretted anything the way I regret taking that job and going with them to Ibadan to shoot under their care,” she wrote, reflecting on the incident. She further added, “The past month has really been something. My own stomach is my greatest op.”
