Popular Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has addressed her past relationship with Naira Marley and her stance on the controversy surrounding the death of Mohbad.
In a statement released on Monday, Iyabo Ojo clarified that she had previously supported Naira Marley and other young artists by promoting their music and providing platforms for exposure. She revealed that she had allowed her lounge to be used for shows and helped artists connect with producers, including Marley.
However, she expressed disappointment in Naira Marley’s failure to act when allegations surfaced that his associate, Sam Larry, had bullied Mohbad. While she did not directly accuse Marley of being involved in Mohbad’s tragic death, she stated that evidence suggested threats against the late singer’s life.
The actress criticized Marley’s inaction regarding the alleged harassment and vowed to take legal action if necessary. She reaffirmed her commitment to fighting injustice, regardless of personal relationships.
Her statement comes amid growing demands for accountability in Mohbad’s case, sparking nationwide discussions on bullying and exploitation in Nigeria’s music industry.
