Why I Want To Become Governor Of Kaduna State – El-Rufai

Nasir El-RufaiFormer Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, who has declared his intention to run for Kaduna State Governor has revealed his reasons for his decision.

Nasir El-Rufai,who is the Deputy National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in a statement on Monday stated his reasons saying:

“Our state, Kaduna, is now fragmented across ethnic and religious lines. Without federal allocations, the state cannot survive. Our renowned educational institutions are decaying, while unemployment and youth restiveness are visible. Trust in government is low and the essentials needed to stimulate socio-economic development are most lacking.”

“Otherwise the cohesive fabric of our community may be completely destroyed”.

“Bearing in mind the need to rescue our beloved state; coupled with deep reflection and wide consultation with stakeholders who cherish the importance of providing good leadership, I have resolved to contest for the office of the Governor of Kaduna State on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2015 elections.” El-Rufai said.

El-Rufai who appealed to the people of Kaduna to vote him in as Governor, said while stating that should APC win all elective positions in Kaduna State, this will help in freeing the citizens from insecurity, underdevelopment and despair.

He also asked for their prayers saying: “As we begin the journey to rebuild Kaduna State and put our people on the road to peace and socio-economic prosperity.”

On September 17, it was reported that El-Rufai officially declared his intention to run for Governor of Kaduna state on the platform of the All Progressive Congress, APC saying:

It is a demonstration of deep commitment to the peace, development and unity of Kaduna State. I am set and ready to move to action, justice is paramount to development and that is my direction. I am seeking your blessings and moral backing”.
