Popular human rights lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN) has faulted the decision of the Federal Government to suspend Twitter operations in Nigeria.
He expressed that instead of the ban placed on the microblogging site, the federal government should have sued the platform.
While appearing on the Wednesday edition of Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, Falana stated that the Federal Government should either have sued Twitter in the United States of America or in Ghana where the microblogging service provider has its African headquarters.
Falana also stated thar there is no ground on which the action of the government can be justified.
He expressed that the 40 million Twitter subscribers in Nigeria cannot be disenfranchised over one person’s ego.
