With a free (limited) or premium (unlimited) service available on the Spinlet music app, users can discover thousands of African music, share their favourite tracks, create playlists and get their friends involved.
Spinlet’s music app, which originally launched in May 2012 for Android, Symbian and Blackberry devices through its website, was later released on the Google Play Store on May 25. Its Android app currently has support for Android 4.4 OS (KitKat) and has seen below 500,000 downloads.
Currently with over 650,000 registered users and 50,000 local artists on its platform, Spinlet expects about 18 million music downloads from its apps by 2014, 88 million music downloads and about 50 million paid subscribers by 2016
