Nigerian rapper Olanrewaju Ogunmefun, popularly known as Vector Tha Viper, has sparked conversation after sharing his thoughts on intelligence, influence, and the public perception of political figures, including Labour Party former presidential candidate Peter Obi.
Speaking on a recent podcast, Vector was asked whether he believed Peter Obi was overhyped or if Nigerians should pay attention to his influence. The rapper responded with measured caution, highlighting Obi’s intelligence and public appeal.
“As a matter of fact, Nigerians better be careful of such a man, that is very highly intelligent,” Vector said. “Not because I have or know anything wrong with him, or his stance — like he would say, go and verify. I might have personal opinions from my own experience, but I don’t know anything that I can say, you should beware of this person, no! But I know, someone who knows their books well and can speak convincingly… people like that, they are hot.”
Vector clarified that his comments were not meant to diminish Obi’s work or achievements. “This is not in any way to stifle what he is doing,” he added, “but you know, there are many people we thought we were the ones, but they turned out to not be.”
