Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Ijeoma Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has responded to people criticizing her for undergoing a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) just months after losing her sister.
Speaking during an Instagram livestream on Saturday, Phyna called out critics, describing many Nigerians as hypocrites.
The reality star recently had a BBL and 360 liposuction procedure and shared a post-surgery video that quickly went viral, captioned:
“Finally did it. No regrets.”
Some people accused her of being insensitive because of her sister’s passing, but Phyna strongly disagreed. She explained that she chooses to grieve privately and doesn’t owe anyone a public display of her pain.
“I just woke up, but I want to address something quickly. Most Nigerians are hypocrites, and I have a lot of miserable people in my comment section,” she said.
She made it clear that her grief is real, even if she doesn’t show it online.
“I don’t grieve my sister on social media. She will always remain in my heart. But you will never see me come online to cry or post about missing her,” she added.
Phyna also warned people not to involve her late sister, Ruth Otabor, in online discussions.
“Don’t bring my sister’s death into this. I lost someone very close to me, and it’s nobody’s business,” she said.
She further defended her family, noting that they resumed their normal lives on September 1, a day after her sister was buried on August 31.
