Nigeria’s presence on the global leadership stage received fresh recognition as Oluwatoyin Atanda, President of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Nigeria, was named the Most Outstanding National President at the 2025 JCI World Congress held in Tunis, Tunisia.
Atanda emerged tops among more than 100 national presidents from member chapters of the global youth leadership organisation, a body that operates across over 100 countries and empowers young professionals in leadership, community service and international cooperation.
The announcement was made during the gala night of the JCI World Congress on November 9, 2025, where Atanda’s leadership and impact were celebrated alongside other global youth leaders. In addition to the top honour, she also received a Certificate of Appreciation on behalf of JCI Nigeria for its contribution to the 2025 JCI Impact Drive and the organisation’s efforts to advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs).
In her remarks following the recognition, Atanda credited the success to the teamwork and dedication of the 2025 JCI Nigeria Executive Team. She reflected on her tenure, which began in January 2025, noting that the organisation’s theme — ELV8: Rising Together for a Sustainable Future — drove initiatives focused on youth mobilisation, community development and social impact both locally and internationally.
“I am deeply honoured by this recognition,” Atanda said, “and grateful to all members who have worked tirelessly to ensure that JCI Nigeria’s footprint is felt globally. This isn’t just about my leadership; it’s about the commitment of every young person who believes in purpose-driven service.”
The Most Outstanding National President award highlights not only her personal leadership but also Nigeria’s rising profile within global youth networks. As an international leadership platform, JCI provides opportunities for members to engage in leadership development, community action and cross-border collaboration — an environment where Atanda’s approach has clearly resonated.
Her achievement stands as a reminder that Nigerian professionals and young leaders are increasingly gaining respect on global platforms, contributing to international development agendas and inspiring others to pursue impactful leadership beyond national borders.
