K1 De Ultimate Cancels Birthday Carnival

Legendary Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, known to the world as K1 De Ultimate, has made the unexpected decision to forgo his annual birthday celebration this year. The iconic artist, who turns 67 on March 3rd, 2024, traditionally hosts a lavish carnival to mark the occasion.

However, in a statement released on February 29th, 2024, he cited the current economic hardship in Nigeria as the reason behind the cancellation. He expressed his belief that an extravagant celebration would be insensitive to the struggles faced by many in the country.

“There is nothing much happening in our country Nigeria to warrant me celebrating at this point,” K1 De Ultimate stated in the press release.

Instead of a grand celebration, the Fuji maestro urged his fans and loved ones to use the occasion to extend a helping hand to those less fortunate. He encouraged them to “help someone nearer to you” rather than attending festivities.

As observed by Naijassador, his decision has garnered widespread respect and admiration. Many Nigerians have praised his compassion and understanding of the economic realities facing the nation. His act of selflessness serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of community and social responsibility during challenging times.

This news comes as a surprise to fans who have come to expect K1 De Ultimate’s birthday celebrations to be grand affairs. However, the artist’s commitment to social consciousness and his desire to support his fellow Nigerians during this difficult period have resonated deeply with the public.
