The House-to-House campaign organization that helped Goodluck Jonathan advance for the 2011 elections, made choice in favour of his rival, Muhammadu Buhari, ahead of the 2015 polls.

House-to-House campaign group to support Buhari

According to Sahara Reporters, the group reasoned their decision by the fact that Jonathan had demonstrated poor performance and inability to manage corruption in the country.

The National Coordinator of the House-to-House Political Education Initiative, Kunle Ehinlanwo, said this as he briefed journalists in Abuja.

The official dislcosed that first they planned to support the Incumbent President thinking that stability would secure democracy. However soon they concluded, based on the careful review and analysis, that the situation in the country needs to be changed.

“We have consequently decided to throw our support in favour of General Muhammadu Buhari, the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who we are convinced is a better man for the challenging job.”

Ehinlanwo added that the group would campaign vigorously for the former military Head of State and his running mate Yemi Osinbajo.

“For the record, our organization is engineered and powered by concerned citizens and patriotic volunteers throughout Nigeria to achieve these common objectives. We are concerned about the future of this great nation buffeted by bad leadership and we believe the time for a collective action towards a purposeful and responsible government which shares the wishes and aspirations of distressed Nigerians is now. We have therefore taken the bull by the horn to do honest bit in the quest for change.

He also expressed confidence that the opposition party would triumph because the Nigerian people can see beyond the antics of the rudderless Jonathan administration and its desperate quest for power.

According to the official, people strive for change and no intimidation or corruption, which might be involved in the electoral process, would change their desire.

Meanwhile Buhari has recently stated that he would use social media platforms to interact with people. The politician promised to communicate with the voters and read through all the comments dropped on Facebook.

“I take note of every comment, suggestion and feedback you give me. Please keep them coming. Thank you for your support.”
