Bobo Ajudua, former lawyer to Nigerian artist Davido, has stirred a heated conversation on social media after defending the high price of pepper soup at a popular Nigerian chef Hilda Baci’s restaurant.

The debate began when a customer expressed dissatisfaction over being served what she called “subpar pepper soup” for N6,000.

Responding on his X page, Ajudua argued that the customer should have anticipated higher prices, given Lekki’s status as one of Nigeria’s most expensive areas. He suggested that anyone dining in a high-end establishment should do their research beforehand.

Ajudua’s comments didn’t end there. He sarcastically advised the customer to either save her N6,000 and dine at home or opt for a more affordable local food vendor, also known as Mama Put by locals. He further challenged her to start her own business on the island and establish a reputable brand before criticizing others.

While some supported Ajudua’s defence of premium pricing, others criticized his tone and called for better quality standards at such prices.

Ultimately, the incident raises questions about consumer expectations, business transparency, and what truly defines value in the dining experience.
