The Olubadan-designate, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, is scheduled to be crowned the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland on Friday, September 26, 2025.

According to The Punch, Investigations revealed that Ladoja’s nomination has received approval from Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde.

A state delegation met with Ladoja and members of the Olubadan-in-Council at his private residence in Bodija on Wednesday, marking a key step toward the historic event.

Adeola Oloko, media aide to the Olubadan-designate, confirmed the development, stating that preparations are underway for the ceremony.

The coronation is slated to take place at the iconic Mapo Hall in Ibadan, the state capital, symbolizing a significant moment in the city’s rich cultural heritage.

The process gained momentum following a meeting between Ladoja and the kingmakers at his residence on Tuesday, August 19, 2025.

As Ibadan prepares for the installation, anticipation builds among residents and dignitaries, with the ceremony expected to draw widespread attention to the ancient city’s enduring traditions.

Ladoja, born September 25, 1944, in Gambari, Ibadan, is a Nigerian businessman and politician poised to become the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.

Educated at Ibadan Boys High School and the University of Liège, where he earned a chemical engineering degree, he worked 13 years at Total Nigeria before venturing into shipping, manufacturing, banking, and agriculture.
