Ghana's leading all-time top scorer Asamoah Gyan has showered praise on Senegal and Liverpool talisman Sadio Mané.
Gyan, who will be launching his autobiography soon, gave Mané a pat on the back following his impressive performance for both club and country. The ex-Ghana captain expressed his delight in Mané's goal against Villarreal in the Champions League and assured him of his unflinching support.
“We’re happy for you. Nice goal last [Wednesday] night and congratulations. Your guy [Diouf] told me about you and he said he’ll call so that I speak to you,” Gyan said as quoted by Football Ghana
Gyan described Mané as the ‘face of African football' alongside Liverpool team-mate Mohamed Salah – who was crowned the Football Writer's Association Player of the Season earlier on Friday.
“You’re the man of the moment and we’re praying for you. Everything is going to be fine… We watch you every week, you and Salah are the face of Africa now and we pray for you.”
