Personal life

Simi is married to fellow Naija singer Adekunle Gold. The couple got married in an intimate wedding ceremony on January 9, 2019. Nigerians were surprised at their wedding because the couple had kept their dating history secret for over five years. Simi and her husband became parents for the first time on May 30, 2020, when she gave birth to her daughter Adejare. Simi often posts her daughter’s photos and videos on her social media pages. The family of three is content and happy with their relationship.

In an interview with Cool FM, Simi recounts the joy of motherhood and how it comes with lots of things to handle at the same time. She also explained that she only began to find herself after two years of giving birth. She said giving birth and raising a child takes a lot from her as a parent but she is happy she is doing all she can for her little one.

Also in 2023, fellow singer, Brymo came out publicly to state that he once requested to have an intimate relationship with singer Simi for collaboration. He said the singer had approached him to feature on her song but he turned her down except she agreed to be intimate with him. Simi rejected his offer and the song was never made. Nigerians dragged Brymo for his insensitive comments and behavior towards the singer who is a married woman. They also praised Simi for being steadfast in her belief to be a better person. On his part, Adekunle Gold who is Simi’s husband asked Brymo to keep his wife’s name out of his mouth and respect her. Simi never commented on what Brymo said.
