Nigerian comedian Ekene Clinton Egbuna, popularly known as KlintonCod, has criticised President Bola Tinubu for what he described as the government’s silence amid worsening economic hardship in the country.

The comedian made his position known in a post on X (formerly Twitter), where he expressed frustration over the rising cost of living and the lack of direct communication from the presidency.

His remarks come as Nigerians continue to grapple with a sharp increase in petrol prices in the past week, a development that has significantly affected the cost of transportation, food and other essential goods.

The price hike has placed additional pressure on many households across the country, with citizens lamenting the growing difficulty of meeting daily expenses.

Reacting to the situation, KlintonCod questioned why the president had not addressed Nigerians to provide clarity on the economic challenges facing the nation.

“But do you guys know how crazy it is to know that we have a president who feels like he does not need to speak to the citizens when need be, like it’s not part of his role, and citizens deem it normal like it’s okay. Kai!” he wrote.
