A Catholic priest, Fr. Kelvin Ugwu, has stirred intense public debate after declaring that the troubled marriage between Nigerian billionaire politician Ned Nwoko and Nollywood actress Regina Daniels was never based on genuine love, but on mutual greed and personal gain.

Speaking in response to the ongoing marital crisis between the celebrity couple, Fr. Ugwu alleged that Ned Nwoko entered the union in search of a young virgin, while Regina was drawn to the billionaire’s wealth and political influence.

According to the priest, both parties willingly entered into what he described as a “transactional contract,” where each received exactly what they desired, and therefore, neither has the moral grounds to complain now that their marriage is facing turbulence.

“Ned was obsessed with virginity; Regina was obsessed with wealth. They both got what they wanted,” Fr. Ugwu stated. “This is not a sacred marriage—it is a contract born out of greed. So whatever is happening now is a consequence of their choices.”
