The Kaduna State Police Command has summoned a former Governor of the state, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, and other top members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), for questioning over multiple criminal allegations.
In a letter dated September 4, 2025, and signed by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Uzainu Abdullahi, the ADC State Chairman for Kaduna was directed to ensure that El-Rufai and the others appear at the State Criminal Investigation Department SCID) on September 8.
The individuals invited alongside El-Rufai are Bashir Sa’idu, Jafaru Sani, Ubaidullah Mohammed (popularly known as “30”), Nasiru Maikano, Aminu Abita and Ahmed Rufa’i Hussaini (aka “Mikiya”).
The invitation, titled “Investigation Activities: Case of Criminal Conspiracy, Inciting Disturbance of Public Peace, Mischief and Causing Grievous Hurt,” indicates that the police are acting on allegations brought against the listed persons. The purpose of the invitation, according to the letter, is to allow them to respond to and clarify the accusations.
In a related development, security operatives on Wednesday sealed the ADC’s Kaduna office, located at No. 4 Ali Akilu Road, just hours before a scheduled visit by the party’s Northwest leadership.
The visit was part of a commiseration mission, following an attack on a coalition meeting involving members of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and ADC last week, during which several members were reportedly injured by suspected political thugs.
According to eyewitnesses, multiple police patrol vehicles were stationed around the ADC office, blocking access to the premises.
