In Nigeria, politics is always a matter of who is in power and who can arm-twist the opposition. When it gets to the time for campaigns, there are always reports about the ruling party, be it at the state or federal level, not allowing the opposition to use major facilities to carry out a political campaign.
Recently, there was the news of the refusal of the FCT administration refusing the former governor of Kano and decampee to PDP, Rabiu Kwankwaso, the usage of the Eagle Square in Abuja.
Also, before the campaign flag-off of the APC in Akwa-Ibom state, there were rumors of the PDP led government of the state, insisting the state stadium was not available for use.
Now, in Ekiti state, it is rumored that the APC-led government is denying the opposition, PDP, the benefit of using the state stadium for campaigns.
Why are all these happening? Is this a matter of do-me-I-do-you politics? Are all parties as guilty as each other in the regards?
